My name is Lorraine, I have been employed by Fledglings for the past six years, initially as Deputy Principal in Irlam. Prior to joining the team at Fledglings, I spent seven years at a smaller nursery in Bolton where I became the Manager of the setting for the final four years.
In 2017 I obtained my BA Honours in Early Childhood Studies, graduating a week before my son was born!
Our Worsley nursery which opened in 1995 is purpose built. The two story building is set in 0.6 acres and benefits from wonderful outdoor play spaces, including a yurt, a construction area and a mud kitchen. The Nursery Class children attend our Forest School once a week and we have music, dance and mini soccer classes which are run by outside agencies.
Parents, staff and visitors access the building using a Biometric Finger Print System, so you can be assured your child is in a safe, secure environment. The nursery is easily accessible, located a short distance from the East Lancashire Road and the M60 orbital motorway.
Our kitchen has been awarded the highest 5 star rating by Salford's Environmental Health Department and the meals we serve are wholesome, balanced and healthy.
We constantly review and reflect on our practice, in an attempt to further improve our quality of care and education. We invest heavily in staff training and development, providing both in-house and external courses, to ensure that our team is equipped with the knowledge and understanding to help all the children in our care achieve their full potential in readiness for school.
